The Swamps Route runs along the P-210 road from Cervera de Pisuerga to Velilla del Río Carrión. Along this road you can see 4 swamps, two on the side of the river Pisuerga, Ruesga and Requejada, and two on the side of the river Carrión, Camporredondo and Compuerto. It is a beautiful landscape, not only by the sight of swamps and rivers, also because of its mountain peaks as Peña Redonda, Espigüete or Curavacas, and forests of beech, native pine or oak.
Located on both sides of Horadada Canyon, Las Tuerces is a wonderful karstic landscape, a natural monument ideal for hiking and climbing practice. The Canal of Castilla is the most important project of civil engineering from Spanish illustrated epoch. Its construction began in the eighteenth century to facilitate transportation of wheat from Castilla to northern ports. It runs over 207 kilometers linking the towns of Alar del Rey (Palencia) with Valladolid and Medina de Rio Seco and has a total drop of 150 meters.
